The
Riff Raff Rifle Club came into being on the grounds of a conversation overheard by a founder member,
Mr.Nye, at Bisley in 1976. Apparently a County Captain was making disparaging
remarks to a colleague that the team would not do well as it was made up of
riffraffs (dictionary definition: those people regarded as worthless; insignificant).
Mr. Nye decided to prove him wrong and in consequence the Riff Raff Rifle
Club was born.
The club
operates only at Bisley Camp, but runs winter postal competitions entered
by members from all over the country, shooting the postal competitions at their own club. Anyone can take part. Prize giving and the A.G.M is at Bisley
Camp during the NSRA National Small-bore Rifle Championship meetings in August each year.
We welcome new members, wherever they live, whatever their club.
The basis
of our club is to enjoy ourselves
